Duran Duran, to perform in Bucharest

New-wave band Duran Duran will give a concert on October 19 at the Palace Hall from Bucharest, on Sunday announced Emag!c company, in a communiqué sent to Rompres. Those who brought to Romania Depeche Mode and Shakira this summer will also bring, in premiere for a stage in Bucharest, the famous Duran Duran, the fans being able to listen live hits such as “The Reflex,” “Notorious,” “Wild Boys,” “Rio,” “Hungry Like the Wolf,” “Come Undone,” “Sunrise” and “What Happens Tomorrow.” Representing the new-wave trend, along with Depeche Mode, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Tears for Fears and New Order, Duran Duran is one of the bands with longevity in the history of music: a career of over 25 years, more than 70 million albums sold worldwide, 18 singles in Billboard 100 and 30 in the Top 40 UK.
Established in 1978, the band suffered in time numerous changes, however reuniting in 2004 again in the formula that made it famous – Nick Rhodes, John Taylor, Roger Taylor, Andy Taylor, Simon LeBon – for the launching of the latest album “Astronaut” (2004), a material that went right on the third place in the UK top. At the beginning of this year, Duran Duran gave a performance at the Nobel award giving festivities, and in Turin, Italy, at the 2006 Winter Olympic Games.
